Re: Forum Software Update

On the old theme, there was an option in each forum topic, next to the thread name, to go to first unread post...
Where is this now?

it also bugs me, that the topic names aren't red like the mitsi logo, when there are new posts :p

Didn't doctors ever tell you that if you do it too often, it makes you blind?
I'll have an FTO one day... i swear!

until then:
1. 2001 Merc-Benz A160 (porta-loo on wheels)
2. 2007 Peugeot 307 TDi (more fun than you'd expect)
3. 2009 Mitsubishi Triton Di-D (a monster in its own right)
4. 1992 Nissan NX Coupe (club car and project car)
5. 1996 Holden SB Barina - "The Nugget"
6. 1996 Jeep XJ Cherokee Sport - The Budget Build
7. 2010 Toyota Landcruiser 76 Series - V8 Goodness... - Build coming soon.
8. 1990 Audi 90 manual - The delightfully dignified daily driver

Any way to make the background colour of the quote different to the actual post it is in, or maybe give quotes a thicker, more obvious border?
LED ALL the things.

It's there, on the left to the authors name, it's a larger image. I will also be changing the text color to be red for unread posts.

I am currently working on making these slightly larger.
Supplanter wrote:Any way to make the background colour of the quote different to the actual post it is in, or maybe give quotes a thicker, more obvious border?
I'll be experimenting with the different size borders and colours to make it stand out for those with crappy monitors :P

After I do the next few changes I won't be taking anymore requests, it will be the final design. If I took requests from everyone and what they liked the forum would never get completed as everyone has different opinions, any very few of you know what's involved in developing a skin and what is possible and not.

Also, the website is iPhone friendly. If you're using an iPhone 4 & above it should look like this (if not, clear your cache and cookies):

When V3 goes live, will we have the choice to stay with the original Version if we so wish?

What reason do you have for using the original version?

After the update, I keep getting an error when trying to read threads on Tapatalk, I can browse the forum fine and new posts show up in the "Latest" section, but when I try to click on a thread I get this error:

And when trying to read a thread with the phone's browser + the new theme, the text from the post is over the authors avatar, rotating the phone from portrait to landscape or landscape to portrait corrects this, but it gets annoying having to do it on every page. (This is on an Android phone)

I don't really like it... :? I trialed it for a while, but returned back to this one.

Would just be nice to have the option.

Yes, I'll be leaving the other skin as an option for people to use.

I'm looking into that thanks table error, it was an old pluging that seems to have been stirred with the install of the AutoMOD software.

Ok, I've fixed the Tapatalk table error. Had to manually dig out all the bits of the old mod it was related to.

I've tested the skin by itself on Android & it works fine, Vectose I suggest you clear the cookies / cache / history on your phone.

Once these last changes are done, I'll be flicking it over as the default theme. As mentioned above, yes I'll leave the old one active if you wish to go back.

I can confirm, am not getting those MySql errors on my tapatalk any more. Will keep testing through out the day.

That was the first thing I tried, still happens. It also does it on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2. Oh well, now that Tapatalk is working, I wont need to use the full site on my phone.
