How much did it cost to get your extractors installed?

ehehehee would you believe i don't know :? Cause i've got few things done at the same time, & i just pay the bill.

I don't ask my mechanic exactly how much as i know him & his brothers for 10yrs, been to his wedding....blah blah blah!! He also done up all my cars even since i got my first car. So i never question him, as i know he doesn't rip anyone off, & you can tell by the price he charged the other FTO members.

If you interested i can ask him.

I just rang him, $220 drive in/drive out. That’s including new gasket (if the old one is worn) wielding & fitting of course.

I assume you all know the place & number by now eehheehe

Yeah Jun, please do a dyno before & after, so we can put this crap to rest. I didn't do a dyno cause i'm still trying to install a piggy-back, having all sort of problem at the moment. But i guess its a great learning step.

As i soon as i got it all sort out i will dyno it.

dyno

of course someones gonna pipe up and say that you had other mods too so make sure your car is totally stock first if you can....
that way we can see some real figures.
if you cant it dont matter, anything would be good to see.

It doesn't matter that much if he's already got mods as the before snapshot will show this. The key is the difference between the before and after graphs and that nothing else has changed other than the extractors.

The important thing is not so much the KW and torque figures but rather the change in the graph as this shows which rev-ranges the mod has an effect on and the type of effect it has.

I've spoken to a few people who have done this mod and the general consensus is that it improves performance through the mid-range, from about 3,000rpm to around 6,000rpm.

Jun, when getting it dynoed get it done in a gear that goes all the way to red-line without the speed limiter kicking in (i.e. 2nd for AT or 3rd for MT) that way the dyno graph will show the entire rev-range and show exactly which areas the extractors effect.

I agree, but i never just do one mod by itself, i always do few at the same time to save me time & money. So I guess its going to be tough for me to provide dyno sheet that just show one mod. Dam

in looking at the dyno graph for the UAS pipe, the biggest difference is at the top end. So in short, if you want more pickup in the mid-range go for the RPW extractors or if you want more in the top end then go for the UAS pipe.

This also quells any issues as to which one is better, as they work in different rev-ranges.
