As the one I have spare also needs rebuilding as well. It usually takes me 2-3 weeks to do them as I have to order the bearings from the US.
It's not out yet but I can arrange it to be. He seems pretty sure that it's s bearing.
How much would I looking at for that?
Are you in Sydney??
I'll do a full reco for $500 (that includes the bearing kit)
That way we eliminate confusion over whether your driveshafts will fit my spare gearbox etc, as we'll just be rebuilding yours.
Yep, am in Syd up North West

That's fantastic, can you let me know how we go about getting the wheels in motion?

Bennoz where do you get the bearing kits from? I'll eventually have to do a reco, as my gearbox is getting tighter and tighter to put into 2nd, 3rd and reverse. With these bearing kits do they restore the gearbox to perfect condition?

Ok, I'll need a $200 deposit, so I can order the kit. (Will pm you bank details)
Then once the kit arrives, I'll let you know to get your mechanic to pull the box. Get the box to me & I'll get started on it.
Once I've got the box & kit, it'll only take a few days to do the job

Yeah they restore is back to almost brand new
unless you've got damaged syncros or damaged/chipped gears themselves.

You can order the kit with syncros, but it is signifigantly more expensive, also a hell of a lot more time consuming too as you have to split the clusters down to nothing & completely reassemble. .. and the few I've done like that, I've always ended up needing to replace more than just bearings & syncros. Needed a bunch of little shims & locks rings from Mitsubishi as the old ones were no longer within factory tolerances when reassembled.
Having said all that, being tight to get into gear is not a sign of an internal gearbox problem, its a sign that one of your selector cable is seizing up. Quite a common problem.
