Absolute BULLSHIT! Mate if I was you as soon as he came back with that BS I would have said to him straight up "NO worries mate, I'll call Fair Trading and see what they think of it!" then start walking out the door. I guarantee he would have changed his attitude in an instant!

There is a thing in Australia called Statutory Warranty, overrides any dodgy contract these wankers think they can weasil you out of a valid claim with. Call Fair Trading!
