Don't go cheap as you will get cheap sh*t rubber.
The RSR's work well, they heat up fast ( rub your thumb on them 4 times and it will feel sticky ).
I am going to try the R888's next if I cand get them.

Yes the 595RS-R is what I was referring to.
You think they are a good alternative to the R888 tires, considering they are substantially cheaper?

hang on you can get the RSR's in 15's for about $150 each, good price.
But I think that may be for the RS ( I may be wrong ) .
I personally can't say if the RSR's are better than the R888's as I still have to try them, but that will be soon I hope .

Sorry I just checked on ebay again and it was actually in the UK.
Though I remember I checked before in Aus and it was either 150 or 180 for 15s here in Aus + fitting of course.

Have you used the RSR before or not?

I was checking the specs for the KU-31 and it has a 320 treadwear which doesn't seem like it would grip much

The RSR's are on the car now. I find them great, in the wet they are good but they can skip over pools of water sometimes.
They heat up very fast giving you almost instant grip. You can rub your finger on them about 4-6 times and then your finger will start to stick to it ( giving you that tacky feeling under your finger ) .
I have now done 3-4 track days and a number of club drives also street driving and there is still about 35-40% on them.
The RS 595's are no good after not even two track days they went hard and start to go out of shape.

Do you know if they are street legal?
I plan on using them on street and some track but the car is not daily driven

The RSR's are street Legal .

It is probably going to be my next tire.
It has a treadwear of 180 though compared to the R888 100.
My current S-02 Bridgestones have 180 treadwear as well.

R888's go hard quickly I've heard

Yeah I wouldn't mind trying the RSRs, I've only tried the other 595s.

How were the normal 595s?
And what is their difference, just tread pattern? Is the compound the same?

The normal 595's I think are sh*t. The difference is less groves in the RSR's and a softer R compound.
I would spend the extra $$ to get the RSR's over the RS any day.

I was not considering the normal 595 tires, just was curious as to their difference.

The thing with the RSR 595s is that I don't think they are actual R compound tires. In fact there seems to be a lack of real information out there about them (in the way of comparative reviews) and considering their relatively high treadwear of 180 I am thinking maybe something like a Bridgestone RE-11 would offer more grip in both wet and dry conditions?

What do you guys think of the KU31's? Thinking of getting them as I'm pretty much out of tread on 2 of my 4 tyres. Also, 225's fit on 7" alright? or better to stick with 215's
