Id love to supercharge my FTO, it sounds so much easier than turbo charging.
Im thinking about taking out a loan to do this

My opinion is that it's easier and less stress on the engine.
Hardest bit is mounting the charger and associated idler/tensioner pulleys as there's no off the shelf brackets to do this. Luckily I had a spare engine to mock-up the brackets, really wish i'd got them copied before selling the car.
I actually did remove everything and make paper templates just before selling the car and moving here but somehow they've vanished.
Very basic list:
Supercharger (I used an Eaton M45 from a mini cooper s)
Larger injectors (CDH-275)
Engine management (emanage blue will do)
Spare intake plenum to cut down and make shorter
Ally plate to make the brackets
Idler/tensioner pulleys
Bypass valve
Small intercooler
IC pipework
If I do buy another FTO I will most likely charge it and start a build thread on here, should be easier 2nd time around.
And I'll be watching eagerly

watching and learning,
Lol make sure you do a photo DIY!

Found another one but it's unlicensed, very cheap but high km's, should I stay away from it or is it not a big deal buying an unlicensed car?
Haven't looked at it yet so i'm not aware of any issues that it may have.

It is all about the condition. Seen it yet?

No and i'm wondering why it's been unlicensed for 12 months, and he doesn't know if it's a GR or GPX.
I'm trying to arrange to view it, assuming it is in good condition how easy is it to get it registered in WA and can I even drive it home after purchasing?

Yes, if you are driving it to a place of repair. You need a "Temporary movement permit"
Will cost you $21 for 48 hours.
More information here-->

Additionally, the pit fee seems to have gone up, to $90, recently.
The pdf listing all fees is here

Probably best to do it in this order:
1> Go and check it out.
2> If you want it, get a mobile mechanic to check it out thoroughly, and note down what repairs are needed to pass the pits.
3> Drive / tow it to repair place for fix up and go through the pits.

Thanks yotka, I don't mind paying for inspection as long as there's nothing wrong with it and it's going to pass lol but I don't know why he just doesn't do that, unless he's expecting it to fail.
Edit, just seen your other post.
Don't suppose you happen to know any mobile mechanics?
If not I will do a google, i'm sure there will be a few around in Perth.
Or maybe I should just wait a while longer, haven't really seen what i'm after yet.

Just go check that car out first.
A mobile mechanic will cost you about $200 - $250 though.
Edit: He probably did not get round to it due to the high cost of parts. You can probably get round that by using the resources of the members here.

Looks like the seller is a mechanic or works for a mechanics - MSI services Landsdale.
