One word . . . nope =)
You can't really measure anything that pushes air in terms of pressure.
Pressure depends on the volume of the container where the air is going to.
Ie, it'll take a lot more air to get a car tyre to 40 psi than a push bike tyre.
That said, claiming a certain pressure level without knowing what you're trying to pressurise is the staple of a con.
One of the measure that I know of is CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute)
I'm guessing there would be a CMM equivalent as well but CFM is common one.
Anyways, I haven't read the site, but I've seen previous attempts of having an electronic fan providing increased airflow. I'd think that they'd be more of a restriction than an intake mod.

Yeah well, not everyone has the technical knowledge to tell the jokes from the real mccoy.
Remember, we were all newbies once.
I'd rather this particular forum stay serious so we don't get anyone trying out one of the jokes, then blaming us for mis-information (mind you everything on the net needs to be taken with a grain of salt but still, I'd rather that situation not arise) but they are just my wishes =)
let me ask you all this, of those who knew it was a joke, who actually knew why it wouldn't work?

It's not a matter of technical knowledge to work out this was a joke but rather to pick up on the sarcasm of Mikey's message along with the rolling eyes (). But if you skimmed over a few of the original messages in this topic, the sarcasm would be easy to miss.
Mikey (and a few others) have a history of this sort of thing, finding products like this on eBay and elsewhere on the net and putting them up for a bit of a laugh. Normally most people get it and find it quite amusing, perhaps this time it was a little too subtle

. For those that had seen their previous messages then it would have made this message more obvious.
Personally, I had a great laugh (well done Mikey), and particularly enjoyed Kev chipping in with his "but wait there's more" comment and Supplanter with "I am interested to point and laugh too".
In relation to the product, this guy is dead serious about trying to sell it, for him it's not joke, but so too was the guy selling the blow-off valve CD and the one selling the stick on super charger.
As a cautionary warning, always be wary of anyone selling information about a product and not the actual product itself. They can sell the information quite easily and create all sorts of scams with worthless information, but as soon as a product is involved they have all sorts of legal obligations they must meet. It's a bit like the old scam of "send me $1 and I'll send you information on how to make $100." When I receive your money, I then send you information which says "advertise that you can help people make $100 by sending you $1. When 100 people request this information from you, you will have earned $100". Quick, easy scam!
I do however agree with your comments Eric about information being relevant and is something I campaigned for on this forum and copped a lot of flack over. So now I just let it be and my life on this forum has less hassles

Having said that, this post probably would have been better in the gibberish corner, and probably would have been received with a little better humour there.

there is a reason for this crap to be posted on the
Gibberish Corner, in case any of you failed to realise...

Are you posting this saying it does work?
Or just out of interest?
i'm posting this out of boredom and i'm not saying that it works or not either... guess if you are serious then you'll just have to find out yourself LoL.
I know what I'd rather spend my money on!

Well then maybe you should really be posting this on the Gibberish Corner like you said huh?
Are you ppl enjoying this while all these ppl are wondering about this seriously?
And you guys are probably laughing your ass off?
I am for one that definately isn't a person who doesn't know any thing about cars....but am ways looking for ways to expand my knowledge on cars...and you ppl do this kind of thing???
Man~
Maybe we should just keep these forums as a free one, cause there is no way i'm paying money to see this kind of crap!
I don't have to pay anything to see that!!

fto12345, before you lose your cool, i should mention that this thread was
accidentally posted on the General section and for that i apologize... i don't understand why you seem so frustrated/taken so much offense out of this...
i'm just a little bemused at how much interest has gone into this scam...
you may not be mechanically sound, but this thread was not intended to be an offensive attack to your knowledge about cars alright, don't take it the wrong way...
the only ppl we're laughing at is the ppl who came up with the idea for this sort of crappy gadgets in the 1st place...
so in nutshell:
1. this is meant to be a joke
2. it's NOT an attack on those who are not mechanically sound
3. lighten up

hey wait a minute i just realised - why the hell was this thread in technical section?? i remember vividly that it was moved from general to Gibberish Corner at one stage, WTF is going on??

well I thought it was funny!
...and I'm laughing at the person who is selling this,
not those who took it seriously.

WTF is going on indeed. I check out the forums each day going from the state boards up. I saw this thread in the technical section, then again with a few more posts in the Gibberish Corner. It seems to be present in both section.
OHHH, weclcome to the twilight zone!

fto12345.... no one laughs at people in here.... or attacks people for wanting knowledge...
ive asked mikey, danny, steve a million and one questions, and they have always given me their time to help me where they can....even if they thought my question(s) was something most people would/should already know....
that post, appeared harmless, and isnt setting anyone up to be laughed at....
try and relax, 80% of the information on here is very serious and another 20% is meant to be light hearted - like this post...
you calling these forums or stating "this kind of crap" is more offensive to the people that put a lot of time and effort into this site then anything that was written in the original post.
sorry if im "bitc*ing here" and causing trouble, but i think we should be more appreciative of the people who set this site up and help it to grow

ok well im not very mechanically minded, never been worried to admit that... i tell you though, if that sight had of taken Ipay i would have purchased it. but i dont like the money order crap so when i saw that i said stuff it. 15 or actually $22 is jack all in my opinion and i would have been willing to pay it to learn a lesson on my car, better then paying 10.000 on a 6A13 with TT to find out the rest of the car will go boom if you forgot to properly bolster some small piece of your car.
and if i had spent $22 bucks and then found out it was bullshit before the manual had even arrived i would probably still laugh for being screwed...coz its only 22 bucks big deal... but not everyone would see it that way... so if your playing jokes good on you, but a rule i often use when practical joking is to put as much effort into planning what can go wrong as i have with the joke. that wayy no one gets upset.
you know... im still curious even though youve said it wont work LOL. then again i was always the type to make sure fire does actually burn in case my elders are sh*t stiring me LOL

This seems to be completely misunderstood. Mikey is not playing a joke on anyone, nor is anyone else. He simply found what appears to be a rather dubious item and posted it up here with a sarcastic remark and some rolling eyes so we could all get a laugh out of it.
This isn't a practical joke and no effort has gone into it, all Mikey did was copy and paste a web address.
pagan wrote:you know... im still curious even though youve said it wont work LOL.
I don't believe anyone has actually said it won't work. In fact the whole thing seems so dubious I don't think anyone will spend any time on it trying to disprove it. We are simply relying on its dodgyness and its similarity to other bodgy scams to draw our opinions. Who knows we could all be wrong and it might be the best thing out there.... but I doubt it.
