I hand made a socket. Ground 2 flat sections, one on each side of a 14mm socket, then just used a big shifter to turn the socket. Jobs done
If you need additional grip for the socket, pop a large screw driver in behind it & lever the socket off the chassis rail onto the nut, then use your shifter.

I didant know one of the joys of owning a Fto would be that I get a crash course in tool makeing

You should see the tools I've made for my mini! 1/2" spanners welded to other spanners everywhere!

A ring spanner with the 45 degree bent easily fits. A 1/4 inch socket easily fits as well. Just have some PVC piping in your arsenal to fit around ratchets and spanners to give you that extra reach which you would really have.
