IMO, 9500 for a 95 GPX, stock rock is a joke (once again imo)
As listed before there a numerous conditions with your specific car your looking at such as roof rust, low km's that could not be genuine, and numerous possible electronic problems.
Having said that, if it all works out and km's are legit, roof isnt rusting, electronics are fine etc etc - you would want to look at what you want done to it in the end and figure out if it is worth spending 8700 on a car u might want to spend 7-8 more.
The scrapes on the wheels worry me because that means she is either a bad driver, or doesnt care about the car enough to replace them/fix them or care about scraping along a kerb in the first place.
Also, if azza's car is 137.2kW and she is claiming 147kW..either she is reading off some factory list in which it is more realistically 117 for a 20% loss or she is making that s**t up - if that worries u at all.
Ive seen a lot more go for a lot less - hell i got my GPvR for 10k - which came with a 3k stereo system, full HKS exhaust system, and numerous other minor mods like custom dials, shifter etc. The only thing i could spot wrong was the brakes and front rotors needed replacing (cost me 340) and theres a minor scratch on the back bumper - which im really not fussed about it is easily touched up.
My opinion is to find out the total cost in which u want to spend all up including rego/insurance plus i think u mentioned stereo and some other things, find one with all or most and go for that, because modified cars do not retain value as they should (imo).
I saw a GPvR on carsales in NT not so long ago which matched your description (although it was with big 18" chromes, fag spoiler, "competition subs" neons and a crappy pinstripe job - which screams im a ricer fag to me) but hey it was still a relatively good buy, and i'm sure another will come up.
Im sure you already know the basics, but make sure to check obvious things like tire tread, correct amount of fluids (this is actually more common than you think that people run their car on no oil) and if you can things like brakes, >rattles< (a big offset for me theres nothing more annoying than a constant rattle in the car) and anything else that might bug you if you copped it.
Its 3.40am and im rambling here - cutting it short, imo dont buy it - wait for something better it will come eventually

IMO, if you like the car, you can afford it and you decide that that is a price you are willing to pay then buy it. If you have your reservations then hold out. Simple.

I clearly have doubts about the car value and will wait.

I have also decided that if I'm looking interstate it better be special and not stock standard.
It'll cost about $600 for the inconvenience of an interstate buy.
I shall also not be wow'd by low kms anymore.

A few stock FTO's are in SA, I'll look at them and consider them.

What I want primarily is a manual GPX, well maintained and mechanically sound.
Eventually I will want the nice extras, body kit, steering wheel, leather seats, ECU and such.

If in the next few months I find a car with a lot of extras then that will be sweet, assuming the previous owner wasn't a hoon.
