Haha yeah been thinking about trying to respray my whole car myself. I want to practice on a spare fender I have but just want to know how much paint I would need for a full respray. I'll be hiring a booth. And most likely be acrylic.. For now.

Well you could paint your car with 4 litres of paint. However if it is your first time you probably need more than that. 6 Litres should be more than enough if you dont have to do panels over again. I had to a few times because my compressor was sh*t house.

Depends on the gun mate. You don't want pressure too low. There are low pressure guns etc. You then have to take into considering the length of your air hose and make sure the pressure entering the gun stays consistent.
You have to make sure you don't spray on dry you probably will cop orange peel on your first attempt. Then you need to determine how much to thin your paint!

FTO-BOY wrote:Next question. How many litres say 3 coats?
3 coats is too little in acrylic. Clear if definitely a must imo to make the paint last. I have it down pat but it's taken my a few goes to figure everything out.
When I sprayed the first time I thought I did good, but when I look back at it now I was not doing it right at all. So good luck I will definitely practice first before hiring a booth.
You need to get get the gun at the right PSI and spray the coats on wet. If you don't know what I am talking about you will never get the paint to look right.

Paint your car with black board paint lol
Guy off a fiberglass forum did it to one of his trucks and draw all over it lol
You can have a new custom paint design every day

If your doing it in Acrylic then you don't really need a booth.
