Next step is to swap out the stock intake pipe. It's very restrictive. Gains from that are equal to the filter itself.

nice, I've had my eye on the UAS pipe that everyone is getting in on..
$160 doesn't seem too bad, but up around the $200 mark is getting a little out of budget atm.
the UAS is probably the best option though hey?
I like that it is only one piece, makes life a bit easier

^ Jawohl!
But since UAS intake pipes are ultra scarce, just pay Autobarn a visit and buy the silicone joiners and aluminum pipes needed, all in 3".

mate, if you have the skills to make one yourself. Try look up on weapon R intakes...their intake pipes are one of its kind.
smaller dia tube inside a larger tube, creating dual air velocity...blah blah blah

i think 200 for a CAI setup is pretty reasonable
im getting a little annoyed of these people wanting to gain 50hp from some zip ties...
money is performance

Been wondering i just got a 90degree intercooler silicon pipe bend a length of stainless steel pipe and a 45degree bend into my stock airbox would that be as good as the UAS?

yeh $200 is very decent, but I'm still a poor student.,. haha at least for the next 2 weeks (uni graduation FTW!)
and for the record I'm not trying to gain 50hp from zipties (although they are helping hold my front bar on)

I don't even know what my starting hp was, let alone any gains.. I'm just having some fun with my beast..
and as with everything, I agree that money is quality and performance

haha, there's a couple screws holding it on too.. but zip ties are just holding the sides on
It was just too late at night and the screws are too old, iv straight snapped about 3 screws on the FTO already just by tightening them that one turn too much..
it was one of those, "yeh it works" situations

hahahaha each zip tie equals 10hp
so if you have 5 easy 50hp

if each zip tie is 10hp i must have about 400 hp ..

The fitting depends, the stock airbox has a 4" neck to the intake pipe, but those things you have I rekn will be fine if its 3" since the throttle body is 3" anyway.
You might need a small straight 3" pipe to attach a 3" neck filter to your 3" 45deg silicone pipe.
