Have done it at least 10 times now in FTO's ive owned and never had a problem. Have taken out a LOT more than that, but they dont go back in. Theres nothing really tricky about it as long as you plug everything back in its fairly straight forward.

I know what you are saying. Have been crook for over a month now myself. Last thing you feel like doing under those circumstances is work on a car. Had 4 different cars off the road within 2 week period during that and its the worst.

Finally heating - took me 30 miniutes to remove the dash, 1.5 hours to change the heater matrix without degassing the aircon, and then 2 hours to replace the water pipes in the engine - woooooooooo.
Just gotta do tappets tomorrow, thanks for the help guys.

congrats mate .. nice effort doing it yourself

tappets are a whole other kettle of fish though..
@ DStocks .. you're probably the one person on here with such a massive mechanical knowledge of FTO's - just not how to put things back on

Nah, I defer to bennoz for most stuff. Taking things out and putting them back (other than engine stuff), im not bad as ive done it a few times. Anything to do with analysing engine issues, im still pretty crap.

Bit of a bugger of a job isnt it...... Glad it all worked out for you.
