That's what I am doing until next Wednesday too... SO glad to be getting out of it!

I have NO idea what I want to do really, I think a builder though (even at 30) I am oh so fkn tempted to drop everything and forget all this IT bullshit and become a mechanic. It's what I should have done back in the day.

Dad, "son, what do you want to do with your life?"

Me at 17, "don't know dad, let's look at the paper. I like computers and cars"

Dad, "well, mechanics are getting paid sh*t, and computer techs at entry are getting paid more, what you think?"

Me at 17, "good idea dad, computers are definitely the future, look at all those job listings"

Me at 19 when I had done my quals "Dad, WTF, look at this sh*t... NO IT jobs in the entire city, but apprentices are being paid 3 times what they used to get paid!"

Same thing now too, the manual trades are getting more and more rare; Plumbers FFS are charging hundreds per hour! I really made a bad decision there. Sure, I am getting paid well (for NZ) doing this IT crap, but it's boring. I have a mechanical mind and am good with tools; I should be doing something else :S

Dude, I would never be a mechanic again ESPECIALLY in NZ. I used to work for nissan (christchurch) and in the winter with a beanie, thermals, 2 long sleeve shirts, a jumper, overalls and even fkn woolen gloves. I would freeze my ass off. Also the pay is sh*t and what your going to go through 4 years of being apprentice..... mate I wouldnt.

Save up and start your own business or better yet buy an already established one.

I am an account manager for a debt collection agency. I do the legal work etc.

Need to get out, I hate going to work been doing it for 6 years now.

On Thursday a debtor refused to pay his debt until he received his inheritance. Showed me proof and it was one of those Nigerian scam saying someone had him in their will and he is going to be receiving 30 million. The idiot even showed me proof they needed money from him first and they took 10k out of his account!

I sued the bastard :)
