Maybe people should stop complaining and do something about it
CHRISTIANITY: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

The QLD State gubment must need more monies.
They are too easy to spot with the two massive flash units on the front and the antennas.

Plus they park in the stupidest places.

See a white outlander parked on the median strip on a main road...

lol you should go over to Perth they have speed camera signs out that are bright yellow about 20m before the camera telling you that " YOU ARE ABOUT TO PASS A SPEED CAMERA"
and I should add that the operators put these signs out before they set up there camera

haha, nice .. in qld they hide the signs behind the speed camera car after you've passed it .. which is also hidden behind some trees or whatever :P legally they're supposed to put them 100m in front of the camera in plain sight..

I love Perth roads

I love it how at the end of an overtaking lane, there are no 'merge now' signs or anything, the lines between the lanes just stop. Then you just have one big ass double lane with no markings that slowly but surely becomes a single lane width again

Don't forget the radio traffic reports telling you that there are delays on a road due to a traffic jam and its the road you are on.
you find out that the traffic jam is three cars at a red light

nicholas wrote:Similarly, unmarked mobile speed cameras to be on Sydney roads by July this year. The problems I have with this are:

1. They make the Govt a hell of a lot of money, but how much of it is actually spent on road safety?
2. You don't receive the fine until up to 6 weeks later - any behavioural theorist will tell you this is bad because the punishment is not associated with the infringement (too long ago, might not even remember it happening)
3. As a nation (on average, don't take it personaly) we are incompetent drivers. Nothing, absolutely nothing, is being done to make people better drivers.
4. The operation of these cameras will not be the responsibility of the police. Very shortly (if not immediately) the operation of these cameras will be outsourced to a private contractor who will receive a percentage cut of every fine issued. Therefore, their sole motiviation is to write as many infringments as possible, irrespective of common sense.

I completely agree with the comments Mark Webber made on the weekend; Australia is turning into a nanny state with incompetent governments that are only interested in increasing revenue to disguise the fact that they are even worse at managing spending and the economy.

/rant off.
completely agree with you

government has gone from pretty alright with howard
to completely f**king bullshit with rudd

i also agree with all the other stuff you said

on a off-topic note but still on the topic of the government,

how f**king bullshit is the computer thing they brought in

Brad, before ranting about something you clearly have no idea about, it helps to have your facts straight. The federal government (upon whom you are dishing your misguided angst) has absolutely no power to legislate on traffic regulations. That is left to the state governments.

Rudd may have made his mistakes, but don't blame him for the road rules...

Oh and please feel free to tell me in detail how we are so worse off under Rudd than Howard, cause I sure don't see it ;)

Haha woo political debate!

How is it Rudd's fault that America fucked up the global economies? I think he handled it as best he could, even if it wasn't that great...
