No probs mate ;) We had quite a successful mini DIY day! 1 set of rear GR droplinks changed, a rear camber adjustment, a quick shifter install & battery in a boot!

All you do is remove the centre console, remove a split pin from one of the selector cables, remove the 3 bolts holding the shifter assembly in & as you lift it out, pop the bottom of the shifter out from the lower selector cable (small spring clip)

Once you got the assembly out, them you gotta strip it down.
Need to undo 2 bolts & the spring flys off & the whole lot comes apart in your hands. Then you just pry the stick out from the plastic housing & push the new slector into its place.

Reassembly is the reverse of the above, only difference is, when you bolt the assembly back in, you have a thick sandwich plate that goes underneath the selector assembly. It comes with the shifter & it also should have 3 (longer) replacement bolts.

No probs Madison!

FYI, those bushes I replaced will need doing again in the future, here's what you need to buy: http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php?plid=m3b0s10p205

And Dras needs some bits too, so perhaps if you order everything together, you could save on frieght.

These are the bits he needs:

I love my short shifter, so much nicer to drive... not hard to install, there's a DIY gride with pictures getting around somewhere if you search the net
