Its all bullshit. If they were so concerned on safety they would make it so that you had to have safety inspections every yr, just like most countries in the world.

If your referring to roadworthy inspection prior to rego, somehow I don't think they are very strictly enforced. Most people tend to have mechanic friends who can 'hook them up' even though there may be serious issues with their car. So not too sure how effective these pink slip inspections are in preventing dangerous cars onto our roads.
