Regarding slopes and the INVECS II - Shift strategies on uphill and downhill slopes were also developed. The intelligent slope shift strategy is significant because it can improve the performance on slopes of not only conventional automatic transmissions, but also many other vehicle control systems.
Mitsubishi's INVECS-II transmission incorporates Optimal Shift Control, which optimizes shift scheduling for uphill or downhill gradients.
As for the gear getting stuck, known issue.....most like the speed sensor.
