best thread EVER on this stuff..

you might be best off trying to find a damaged (Full) Evo for this .. never know what extra parts you might need .. & you can always sell the rest of the parts / panels / interior .. I'm sure you'd have no drama's finding buyers..
Damnnn...That guy has put a lot of effort into that job. Just amazing

aye ..

I can't believe the amount of work that these guys have put into this car.. they have literally re-built the FTO from the ground up..

when asked how much it would cost someone to get them to do it ..
desertcolt07 wrote: just had a look back through the photos and it looks waaaay complicated. how much would this build cost if someone payed you to do it? only the 4wd though.
wraith888 wrote: Its not the kind of job you would do in your shead...lol
Iv been asked this a few times now....
Your looking at around 500 hours, give or take a week.
So your looking at £15000-£20000....
soo... I don't know if that's 500 man hours ,or just 500 hours all up.. but, Simon.. if you need some help with it, let me know ;) I don't mind coming down on weekends

Wow thanks guys much appreciated, and ill probably take you all up on the offer ;)

As for the 500hrs, remember he has made it a convertable and also looks like he is fabricating new bonnet etc. The chopping of the roof would have been a massive task. On a FTO (and a lot of cars and houses for that matter) the strength is in the roof so by cutting that you have to strengthen the structual integraty of the car in other ways. I wouldnt even contemplate doing that to a FTO.

Dont get me wrong I dont think this will be as easy as the turbo project but still totally do able :D

ROFL, sh*t man glad you cleared that up lol

what evo is it out of? & is it local? or do you have to get it shipped?

Honestly, I can tell you nothing about whether it's a good deal or not..
.. but .. you should be able to haggle ;)

I think it might be worth it.. a lot cheaper than buying a whole car..

You can always sell all your left over FTO running gear / gearbox / engine / etc etc to make back the majority of the cost..

might be worthwhile jumping onto the EVO forums & asking those guys about it ..

ev0 4.....nice

Any yes, he his right as the evo 4 did come with active yaw control system which isnt just the rear diff but both front and rear diffs....not sure how much it would be worth but if the chassis looks clean then see if you can talk him down a little.....this would be an awesome project... :D :D
