Haha everyone shut up about the NSW / QLD thing for a moment.
Just say for arguments sake that someone did enter a Turbo / AWD FTO (I'd be impressed, seeing as I've never seen a confirmed real example in Australia), wouldn't it have to have all the stuff like full roll cage / harnesses, safety glass etc etc etc? It'd be real expensive to kit that all out.

how fast is a turbo fto i read its 0-100 is in low 4s because I just asked mr google about all those outer flahy cars and he gave me this list
Porsche 911 Carrera does 0 to 100 in 3.6 sec
Porsche GT2 does 0 to 100 in 3.8 sec
The ferrari F430 does 0 to 100 in 4.0 sec
Ferrari 612 does 0 to 100 in 4.0 sec
Ferrari 360 does 0 to 100 in 4.1 sec
lotus esprit does 0 to 100 in 4.4 sec
Aston Martin Vantage does 0 to 100 in 4.9 sec
Aston Martin DB9 does 0 to 100 in 4.9 sec
Aston Martin DB7 GT does 0 to 100 in 5.0 sec
Lotus Elise does 0 to 100 in 5.3 sec
hsv Monaro does 0 to 100 in 6.0 sec
so maby a turbo fto has a chance at a respectable finishing position

Not necessarily. Straight line acceleration is only a small part of it. Braking and handleing would play a big part too.

I remember that there was someone on the forums a while ago that used their FTO for rallies wasn't there?
or was it just a Mirage with FTO engine?

@ nick, yes there would definitly be expense of roll cage etc also the cost of transporting the car to tassie, but thats motorsport. Its a very expensive game.
@ alekazam, depends mate your question is too broad. It depends on how much boost what tyres etc etc. Im not saying its not possible but i have never heard of a fto doing 0-100 in 4sec. Thats f**ken rapid. and i would be very impressed tofind out one is that fast.
@ Mr C, its a mirage with a FTO engine
@ subbie, mate that was just as much a dig at you as it was at suppie. Oh isnt that cute subbie and suppie. You guys were meant for each other
@ Jamie, totally agree.
The FTO with the right setup could out handle some of the more powerful cars but at the end of the day your never going to compete with the likes of porsche etc

"potential"

I think there is only one in the club that can answer that as every one is still trying to get the car running 100% with a turbo
look at Sam the tuner has owned his car longer than Sam has
but I dont think it will be long befor we start to see some results I hope any way

agreed,
also alekazam, it is a broad question because what turbo fto are you referring too? They are all so different
-Mine stock engine with a turbo slapped and tip
-Sam's a fully rebuilt 6A12 with forged internals that can run massive amounts of boost etc etc
-Jeff' has a 6A13
They are all different and all will acheive different outcomes.
I have not used decomp gasket in mine and have a smaller turbo than sams. so my 0-100 might be slightly faster as i can get off the mark quicker, however his car will decimate mine and i would not even stand a chance in a race against his car
