I have had both the k&N and the HKS in my gpx and power wise and throttle respone they were about on par. However noise wise the hks sounded so much sexier

Cmon man, pod filters don't give any real performance Simon!(Maybe worth it if you have a turbo)

Are you serious?? What do you mean real performance. They definitly imporve throttle response and can increase power anywhere from between 4-8kw's. On a fto that can be a increse of 5-10%.

Hmm, I always thought a Pod filter was completely useless unless it was coupled with a bigger intake pipe.

Looking at that site, I'm glad I have the HKS filter right at bottom of page which gave more power than anything else there =p

Its cost about $60 and the brand is drift. Was the only one at autobarn that would fit on the stock pipe. Cos first i bbght a k&n one and the stock pipe was way to big and there was no way to secure it on. ill take a pic and put in online in the next few hours. its a big one though

You should go & grab the last of the intake pipes from UAS. They have 2 left ;) Probably only cost ya $100-150... for another 4-5 kws.

Friend can do fabricating, was thinking of getting stainless piping from intake to plenum with some silicon joins to hold it.
also, add some bling
That's a huge filter harry 8O

Fabricating :? What's there to fabricate. 1 x 90 degree silicone bend, 1 x S/S pipe, 1 x 45 (or 90 depending on what you want) degree bend.

I was thinking along the lines of swapping my uas filter (keeping the piping of course) for a hks pod. I think I'll need an adapter to make it fit.

Is this a good idea? Will my current setup provide better gains than the hks pod?

More so having only 2 small inline silicon joins, and having the pipe with the bends incorporated.
