OMG. Just follow the law, people! Is FTO really a police magnet? Thought rexs are the worst right? I guess most are caught with mod defects and not speeding...

Bonnets come in either CF or Fiberglass (apart from stock ofc)

CF = No painting.
Fiberglass = Painted to match colour of your car.

Both have the exact same look, vents etc, lightweight. Only diff is the meshy look with CF.

Like I said before, fiberglass bonnets will substantially reduce your chances of getting a defect but this doesn't mean you won't get one if the cop really wants to give you one.

If you do have to sell the bonnet, put it up for sale here and it'll be like flys to a pile of sh*t.

Just chuck an 'ADR Approved' sticker on the bottom of it. the bacon will never know the difference.

As for neons. The QLD law states that they cannot be blue in colour or distracting........and thats were they get you, with the "distracting" part . It is up to the cops discreation. However, fining you, when they are not even on is, Bullshit. They only way they could do that is if they classified them as a dangerous appendage/fitting, What does the fine actually say in regards to this?

Paint the bonnet and get new plates.
that will allow the car to look almost as cool, while not allowing the bacon to book you.

And what exactly is with the neons? i couldn't see them in your pictures, thus they are not illegal.

Have to stir this one up a little more. While you cant get the bonner ADR approved, it is possible to get it engineer approved (which is effectivly the same thing). adi_adi got his CF bonnet engineer approved here in Canberra last year.

exactly, the police looked UNDER my car jus to look for them nd found em. . .sneaky little kents. . . they are blue naturally but they're never on - im always tryin to keep a low profile with dis car .. !

Wait..so on the defect notice, does it say anything about the neons?
if they booked you for the neons, the fine is completely invalid because neons are 100% legal if they're not on when the bacon pulls you over.
also - if you do want to keep the bonnet..do as dstocks said - get it engineered. (didn't know you could do that).

my old man told me that he's engineered a few CF parts before spoilers, hoods, mirrors, etc but said that not all CF products can be approved because of their performance and ability to break down in an accident. He also said it would also depend on the legislation in your respective state, so yeah contact your local certified engineer for more info.......the hood looks amazing by the way.
