i lol at the RWD burnout on the cop fact sheet post. you should have filmed it, you film a cop, you get out of most fines and traffic ofences because they rarely do anything by the book these days, and you can prove that within the NSW legislation that yo'uve been wrongly done by an officer of the law, getting you outof an un deserved fine, and giving that cop a reality check. what was the speed limit btw, i'm guessing 60
90 or 80 zone ... Can't remember ... The funny thing was, it was in my Hyundai Sonata... The thing looked stock, and was rolling on a set of 17" ... the only visable thing was the exhaust ... Which was 3" .... So it was a family car basically ...
The thing they didn't bust me for was the Evo III engine undder the hood ... Which was not engineered ... So i guess I was lucky ....

did you see the car in question?
no where on earth could that thing POSSIBLY be street legal.
the reason you cant find the street car ones is because there are none.
no street legal or street drivable car that would be owned by 'hoons' would be able to hit 120km/h+ while spinning the back tyres.
as i said..maybe 40km/h, but not much else.
I know that they are not street legal cars that is why I put that they are drag cars
as for the 120K burn out that was just a random number and as for there being no info on street legal cars killing any one from doing burnouts there are a sh*t load, as I said I just could not be stuffed looking for them.
you say that no one could be killed from a car doing 40Ks an hour well I think you need to go and have a chat to any rta inspector/ advanced driving instructor or any police person and they will fill you in on that.
I can tell you now it can hapen, not to mention with my job and all the car driving I do I have seen a lot of deths from people with the same fram of mind as you.
apart from the movies have you ever seen a person get hit by a car sent flying, run over by a car (I can go on) I have right in front of me and one was just on thursday just gone

and it was a P plater showing of infront of his mates.
I will say now that yes this has hit a nerve for me so I will let it go now.

its as simple as
"speed kills"
even though cops patrol residential zomes or wherever, its a fact, speed kills.
i re-iterate that you be a dickhead on the track, and off the public roads, that is besides the fact that cops target import cars and p platers and are unfair sometimes blah blah blah. in this situation, it doesn't matter
speed kills
its a F**king fact

Yes speed kills ... So too does 40k's ...
I just don't see it being valid, that the cops are more willing to sit in 50 & 60 zones, to get people that are going 5k over, just because it is double demerits, and is easy to catch 1 or 2 a day ....
The death tolls on the long weekends are usually due to fatigue and speeding on the freeways, and the occasional hoon ... Which is why I do not see the point of the residential areas being a focus ... Especially in near to peak hour traffic time when people are trying to get to work ...

Its all at the police persons discretion which is complete crap because it is not hard for them to make up stuff and get away with it...

well if the cops wanted to get you you were gone!
because when you went to court all the cop had to do was pull out his note pad and say "and then he told me something"
and then read out a story he had concocted making out you had admitted to whatever it was he thought you had done true or not that my friends was the police verbal.

Jono - unlucky.
oodLes - yours is coming.
biglinz - times change, but there will always be good cops and bad cops.
harry - the result of incompetent people writing laws? you guessed it - sh*t, ambiguous legislation.
rock_it - you speak a lot of sense, how refreshing.
lawsochap - speed isn't the only risk factor; inexperience, risk taking and poor roadways contribute also.
aza - agree; your viewpoint is one that most won't get till they have kids too.
the_msta_chizz - fail.
Anything else?

the new hoon laws are bullshit anyway.
seriously, how can a bloody burnout kill people?
stupid old farts complaining about too much noise from a little slippage.
one of my mates was driving his XR6T ute from the lights, and because there was no weight in the back and 12psi of turbo (slightly wet..), the backs tyres stepped out a bit (alright..when i say a bit, they really did kick out a lot..). Long story short, he got threatened by some undercover cop in a commonwhore that they would take his ute and sell it if he got caught again.
honestly..how are you supposed to help it if you're trying to get somewhere in a hurry and your 12psi kicks in?
seriously, read over what you wrote.. hate to say this but the less people who think like u did when you wrote the above, the better

the_msta_chizz (what is with that name, anyway?) - you missed the whole point of my post. I was just putting a wrap on an increasingly pointless discussion; double demerits weekend is over so just forget it, eh?
I didn't get hassled at all, then again hardly drove - spent the weekend on a houseboat with a few mates and a lot of beer
