Be careful painting the centre bit ... It is actually rubber... So paint does not really stick to that well ...
I had a mate paint his white, and it kept flaking off ...

I used an adhesion primer which should make sure it sticks, it looks good so far but only time will tell really

how do you take the surrounds for the ac vents??
its preety easy for the vents that dont change position, just stick a small screwdriver and lever it out.... im not sure coz its been a while since i painted mine but there might be one screw inside which you can see if you look inside.

Yeah, the ones on the dash where the speaker is behind, are just able to be popped out...
There is a small little clip at the front, that holds it down, but there is a big clip at the back which it slots into ... So put the mini flat blade screw driver at the front, and gently lift up ... Have the vent then at about a 30-45 degree angle and pull forward... This will ensure you don't damage the hook clip at the back ...

Hang on a sec though, you said AC vents. The in dash speaker covers come out easy, but the AC vents on the outside of each side of the dash do not. They are screwed in from the inside. The only way to get them out is to remove the dash.

I am thinking he is talking about the "non moving vents" which are the demist ones infront of the speakers on the dash ... So yeah, I hope we are all talking about the same thing here...

ok im confused... im taking about the surround around the AC vent on the either side (passeger and driver side) not the one on the dash under the windscreen.. im talking about the one around the ac vents (the one that moves up and down?
are we all in the same boat now?..lolz... this is getting confusing..lolz

Thats what I thought you were talking about. Dont go at that with a screwdriver, it is screwed to the dashboard from the inside. Youll be needing to remove the dash to get at that im afraid. Good news is that ive done a guide for that one if you want to have a shot at it.

another thing..how many cans did use and how many coats did you guys put??
Take in mind how much you wanna use, for my fto two cans served for the rear speaker panel, air con vents, fto step panels, centre consol, front speaker covers, and rear seat panels (on either side). with 3 coats on each to keep consistancy and and even coat, though let it totally dry before you start respraying another coat.
