Richy, I have no idea why but everytime I look at your nickname I assume you're from the UK. Your name just screams *POM* for some reason I can't put my finger on :?

Cheers Bennoz,

Took the list to the mechanic and he said no probs, totally agrred with you on the ECU and...is going to include all that work for FREE.

BTW without this stuff he has budgeted for 20k on the rebuild- HP pistons, rings etc...and has promised me she will be real pretty when done. He still wants me to keep the 2k aside so he can add some other gear on like the CAT etc.. which he'll have to get in after the rebuild

He wants to push it to 300hp for me as a way of saying thanks for being so good about it...i love this guy

Only time will tell if he can make good on that but either way i cant go wrong.

will post pics when i get it back and hopefully join those who are going on the VIC run if i get it back in time

Geez, youre on a winner there. At least buy him a case for his troubles if he comes through. Maybe we can promote him through the club as well. Anyone thats prepared to go this far to make it up to you is going to be a good person to get any work done through.

+3, anyone who admits fault when it is there fault, is truely a winnerin my books. I hate when ppl try and squirm there way out of things when they have clearly been too blame

Not only that, but its good to have someone we know thats pulled an engine apart. Whether its one FTO engine or 20, you seen one you seen 'em all.

yeah...too true, from what i've seen and the mechanics opinion, the stock pistons are pretty weak...having said that the washer could have been standing up which could amount to the damage of the piston and the rods...either way he has definetly pulled my engine to pieces and at the end will be very familiar with the mivec.

BTW new pistons that are going in price at $680 per piston 8O not including rings etc...and thats what he can get them for...he is working on a fully modded new model mustang and the pistons are worth more than the ones on the mustang - lucky he's claiming all this on his insurance.

Can you ask exactly what type of piston this is? For half that I can get a set of JB forged pistons...

I was going to get a full set for $2400 = $400 each forged as well.

Spose it doesn't really matter if he's doing it on insurance, but you've got me curious. Buggers better be lined with gold for that kinda coin.
