I dont think these taillights are going to be as hard to make as people think. I reckon this can be done WITHOUT modifying any of the structural bits (just the taillight and the bar). Was having a bit of a look on the weekend. Check these piccies out and youll see what I mean - there is plenty of room to move the light down:
Oh and if you are wondering what you are looking at - its the back of an FTO shell with no bar and just the taillight fitted.

JMO, but i think if they were made so that they are just a direct replacement as apposed to having to modify stuff they would be a hell of a lot more popular

yeah, take your point, but the 2 circular cutouts on the rear bar make it for me. I would certainly be looking at modding a stock taillight though so it was a direct bolt in. Maybe could do both - one that requires a mod of the rear bar and one that does not.

He used Fiat lights (which im not likely to be able to get a hold of. I wonder what other sort of lights look like these. Would I be looking at trailer lights of some kind maybe.......
Once I have one fabricated, could probably reproduce as a unit, but need to get one put together.

The reproduction bits not so hard - ive got links into Tiawan I can use for that I think. The hard bit is finding the right lights and legality would be a nice problem to solve too. Any idea what the regs on taillights are.....
