ROFL.
for $90 an hour, you would be rich!

Ed_EViL, i'm not in love with Linux. infact, i use Vista more these days..
but i do go back to the old Emulator, and have a play around with PClOS & Gnome.
Love my linux, but vista beats it.

You might want to try my advice first, but if you CBF (usually, like me), just Download vista from a torrent and use your key.
To me, i don't find this particularly bad or illegal..
If you lost your CD, yet still own you valid/legit key, Download a copy and use that.
good ones can be found on mininova.

Mate, just give it up ..$80-90 an hour is the BARE MINIMUM rate for a self employed IT Contractor ..
as much as I hate to say this, you're just showing your ignorance..

I won't even bother going into the Vista argument .. you like it, thats fair enough - I don't understand it, but meh whatever. At least we can agree on the Linux thing.

Oodles, you're absolutely right about the error codes .. but the information given isn't much to go off, I couldn't find anything useful about it.

As for explorer using up 100% of the resources there are quite a few Microsoft articles about it .. more info can be found on google ..

Try reinstalling internet explorer or upgrade to version 7 & see if that helps fix the explorer.exe probs.

If you're up to it, try using some of the Sysinternals programs which are now owned by Microsoft;

Process Explorer is a good one that will tell you whats happening with all the processes on your machine in a lot more depth than taskmgr
