This is the same response i was getting from multiple spraypainters as i mentioned earlier in the thread.
Point blank it can't be painted and if anyone does attempt it they are going to destroy a perfectly good bonnet.

back to my original point..sell it and get a standard or better looking aftermarket one, in the colour you want.

you cant get better looking ones that are made out of metal, or legal for that matter. they have to be fabricated from an original. not that hard though, just a matter of separating the frame from the lid, then getting to work...

Get a fibreglass replica (which can be legal from some places) of your one should cost round $600 and then paint too suit, then sell your CF bonnet, im sure if you sold it for $600 some one would want it.

I dont have a CF bonnet. I was intending to get it from Nicholas in a swap. But since it cant be painted easily, then I guess I'll have to think of other ways to lose weight.
CF bonnets are illegal because of their material, not because of the colour right? Eg if I was to paint my stock bonnet black I wouldt get defected? Not that I would, as that that would defeat the purpose of losing weight.

I heard that you can paint CF but i have never spoken to a professional about it so i am only guessing.

Thats right the ppl who make the laws say that they are dangerous because in an accident they DONT crumple like a normal bonnet should and could seriously hurt someone. You can paint your factory bonnet any colour you like without being defected.
