In old cars jack the car up, put it in reverse, put a brick on the accelerator and come back in an hour and your car has only done 10,000km

lol... i dont think it matters... when you take your car for service the mechanic should know when/if the engine needs a rebuild !! they spend their whole lives doing this... and the fact is... winding back your odometer could in fact increase the amount you can sell a car for... and in the end ... money in pocket is all that matters !!!

hehe, but you can still wind it back.. if you've done 50,000k's in a year, you could wipe off 48,000k's & noone would be the wiser if it doesn't appear on any records..

My FTO is a 94 GPX manual with 77,000 on the clock.

it had about 56,000 when i bought it almost 2 years ago.

i'm pretty sure that changing the clock on digital readouts is not that simple of a job, so i'm pretty confident that it would be a correct. ;)

It is when you know a bloke called Hamid & he takes a box full of clusters away & comes back with them all 100k less.... then asks for $500 cash.

Hi. I am the proud new owner of a 95 manual fto gpx. Car was imported in July this year with 48,000kms. Interior is immaculate plus the car was inspected by both racq and another mechanic. Love my car to death!! :D

^ Yup. Swap the speedo over and you've suddenly diven -100,000km :? At least once they're over then things are made a little bit more difficult for them.

Dodgy buggers been playing with them since cars had them installed, and imagine they still will be in the far future when we're crusing around in hover cars.
