i am being a smart ass, i know, but you will get used to it
But in saying that if you aint got the money to do it properly then dont do it. FTO still look HOT with a spoiler. If your dead keen on the no spoiler look save ya little pennies until you can afford to DO IT RIGHT.
Man i would of bloody loved to have an fto when i was 17 so your miles in front of a lot of ppl here.
Dont rush, in the long run you will be much happy (i should kmow, on other cars if done the dodgy and regreted it
But hey its your car do what you will just my 2cents worth

has anybody tried ... or seen... the stock fto spoiler without the centre small piece connected to the car ? it would look like an upside down "u" .... i think it might look alright... beats spending $100's on a spoiler and the $1000's to refurbish boot !!! then again it could look pretty dodgy... but has anyone seen it ? what did you think ?

i reckon that without the centre support bar it would be very weak.
i personally wouldn't try it because of that fact.

Plus doesnt the middle support bar also bolt through the boot so you would have same problem. Not sure though havent had spoiler for so long though

No bolts for the centre piece, but 2 holes for plastic clips that you'd still have to fill.

Your better off welding the Holes shut as the bog can sometimes sink

I had a look at de-winging mine temporarily when the clear paint peeled off my spoiler

Pulled off the wing to measure the holes and found that at least 2 of them are square!
Round grommet in a square hole?
I haven't seen too many square grommets around...

Homer: Hey, what are all these holes? (points at bullet holes in car hood)
Car Salesman: These are speed holes. They make the car go faster.
Homer: (impressed) Oh yeah, speed holes
