Pulse has a 2WD dyno.
Could unbolt the front driveshaft but I'm too lazy. If I'm free I'll come for support

doesn't the drive shaft keep the oil in the gearbox, by creating a seal?
hey you could always just jack up the front of the gtr LOL

Missed this question before...
For something like a Dyno Dynamics 2WD dyno minimum investment for a new one would be in the range of about $50k upwards once you factor in installation and construction of a dyno room with adequate ventilation, etc - and around double that for a 4WD dyno.
Second hand ones usually sell around $35k + though.
Aza - one more question. How many runs does $25 get you?

Depending on the day Im in.
Do we get a air fuel ratio read out? boost read out?
Again how many runs?
Cheers

OK I just got off the phone from Pulse Racing
we are in for the 22nd and we will need 10 cars min
$25 will get 3 runs printouts and a

on the car owners face
if any one is looking at getimg some exhaust workdone there is a place right next door so let me know and I will see if he will open up on the 22nd as well that way you could get the work done and retest the car

I think stock gpx tip should give ~90kw atw ? Provided the dyno doesn't read high.
Hey Aza, i might bring my rolla down instead of the fto. Rolla's dying for a dyno run, hasn't had one since engine transplant and exhaust work. Ahw, heck, i might see if i can get both down hmm.

now thats what I like to see Delvance

two cars bring them down should be good
also what mods have you got in your FTO to get 110kw

Aza,
Base run before mods was 89kw atw

(only exposed HKS pod)
then just small stuff really-
cleaned filter element, heatshield for pod, volt stabiliser and earthing kit, oil catch can, aftermarket intake pipe with heat insulation, high flow metal cat and chamber muffler + a bit of mandrel bent piping, some mobil 1 and nulon e20. She still needs some iridium sparkies though, still has worn outish platinums.
I was going to chase for more but am more than happy with it currently and am unwillingly to sacrifice anymore low end

! Torque past 3500rpm however is very flat and peaks a little over 240nm according to that dyno
I'll definitely try to get two there on the day!

you got some great gain out of it just by doing that
I got to look into getting air intake and exhast done befor dyno day.
I may even take it down and get pulse to do a dyno tune on it and see what they can do with it to get some more power out of it
but 21kw is a great result from the mods that you have done thumbs up from me

Just be careful with exhaust work, i havn't seen it mentioned before but changing the factory setup does kill off low end which affects normal city drivability. My torque below 3500rpm is worse than factory, but open the throttle beyond that and there is a difference!
Come to think of it, my 89kw run had a dodgy heatshield that was affecting the air flow to the filter considerably, so that could also explain for the 21kw jump!
Be interesting to see what yours will pull with intake and exhaust work
Dyno tune ? Do you have an aftermarket ecu or piggyback Aza ?

True, I lost a little down low when I wacked on extractors & did the tail section, but that was easily made up with a couple of pounds shaved off the flywheel

Oohh bennoz you evil man, stop giving me ideas

lol. Hmmm it does sound tempting now.
There are so many opinions on lightened flywheels though, i don't know which to believe in. Some say all gain, some say gain high and lose low down torque (which is something i don't want to lose anymore of). I'd like to try it to be honest, but if i didn't like it, it wouldn't be easy to go back bah. So konfuusheon
