Hmmm, well. I guess I'll see if a new belt makes any difference, if not I guess I still have to find the source. This better not turn out into an Astron-esque wild goose chase.
Enjoy.
I'm quite certain I won't. :x

As I said.

By the way, is there anything prone to rattle underneath the car, possibly exhaust related?

It hadn't occurred to me to actually look in the engine bay to see if anything was amiss. Mostly because I don't really know what bugger all is in there and how to tell if it isn't working properly. But I did spot this, and I have a hunch that it's the cause of the odd scraping noise. Would others concur?
Keep an eye on it. Can mean that the pulley is on the way out as well (bearing). If it is,it will possibly make a noise and shred belts. They are < $100 to replace brand new

    Cool.

Might have to check under my car when I start it up again, see if I can pin-point the rattle-y sound that may or may not also be the scrape-y sound.

Aaand the sound has disappeared so much to the point I think I may only be imagining the whispers of it. Still taking it easy because of the belt though.

I'll have to wait to see if I can afford them though! There's an ebay seller who's got them new for $1,320 with $60 aus wide shipping. The "auction" ends in like a week, but I think it's the sort of thing they can get most of the time.

I have always liked the twin spoke style rims.

There's a set of Work Emotion CR Kai's up for sale from fto-007 if you're looking for similar ones.
    I fix cars.

Tempting, but I want moar sidewall. Even though I'd still only be 5% up with what I'd go on 17s. Eh.
