Got the exhaust done this week and picked it up today. It looks great (pics to come) and it sounds awesome when it's revved but I could hear a metallic rattle coming from the turbo area. I asked the the mechanics about this and they did the usual 'rev it til it stops' type thing. Then they pulled the piping off the turbo and the oil in the turbo is silver. looks like the blades are slowly grinding away. New turbo anyone?

Anyway, metallic noise has stopped and car is back together so I drive off slowly, not wanting to be hoon like (double demerits and all. Anyway, no one is around so I turn the corner and squeeze the throttle. As soon as I do I hear the cops "Crap! I wasn't doing anything!" I look behind me only to see nothing and the siren has stopped. Phew, they must have gone past on the main road. I relax and try again "whoo whoo" I hear again. I look around but there is still no sign of other cars, let alone cops. Anyway, this goes on until I realise that it's my car???

What is causing this? See what you think.



They have done the pipes to the trubo and out in 2.5 inch then 3 inch from around the CV joint area to the back.

Revving in the car park doesn't give the cop sound...

Pretty hard to diagnose a noise via YouTube.. But is it coming through the speakers??

Sounds like the wine you get trough speaker wire with no noise filter and placed incorrectly..

I dont think it is anything abnormal.

Bigger diameter pipes lets the turbo breathe better, hence the more turbo spool. If you ran straight pipes you would get lots more turbo spool. Its all down to fluid dynamics and how gas (in this case what is essentially air) travels in confined spaces.

No, defo not the speakers, but I agree it does sound like that.

Wait a couple of weeks till the pipes 'soot up' and it will sound beefier again

New exhausts are like a fine wine, they get better with age.
