I cant remember, are you running a Emanage? If so, how many pickups on the back of the cam gear does it need to run? Or can it be set? As on the back of the standard gear (the front exhaust gear where the factory cam angle sensor is) there is a steel plate bolted to the gear with 4 pickups on it - 3 small & one large. When we fitted my Haltech, we were able to grind off 3 of the tabs & have the sensor working with justone tab... but I don't know if the Emanage will do that.

I do know where to get verniers for the 6A12 but it would take months & months to get them, much like the wait Im currently enduring for the 6A13 equivalents :x

i'll find out about those tabs... How long will the wait be? I don't mind waiting as we are going to use the stock cam gear for now. Will these verniers fit with the sensor? Also how much will these be? What brand are they? Where are they from? Cheers ben

oh my god i want to fly over to perth and slit dave in the throat!!!
just got a call from my mechanic and they tried to turn the engine over but they cant because the mivec cam is too large a profile and it hits the f***ing rocker arm!!!

what are my legal rights here? surely they must give me my money back and have to pay for the labour costs involved to pull it apart again and put the old cams in again etc?

after such a f***ing long wait i wouldve expected something that would work! this is infuriating and such a waste of time!!!
arghh!!!!
stupid idiots

someone please tell me what i should do?
my mechanics are pulling the new cams out and just replacing them with the old ones for now until we sort something out...

this is just disgraceful

I'd hate to say we told you so but you can probably see why we doubted it would be ready when you said it would. That said, that head with those header look HOTTT!!! :root:

I guess it doesn't matter if they take their time, as long as they do it right this time. You should definitely hold them accountable for any of their fuckups and THEY should cover the cost. Your paying them for the part and the labour, NOT to fix something they screwed up.

Def looks sweet though

If I was to take it to the track i'd camber the rear to 0.5-1.0

hopefully they'll get their sh*t together mate. Hate to say it but i doubt they will finish by friday.
1. the rear is not driven and doesnt need the grip (FWD)
Yes it does.

2. any camber not serving a specific purpose will wear away your tires
Camber keeps your rear end stable and maximises rear end grip. Going around a corner with no negative camber will cause your rear tyres to lean on their sidewall causing tyre wear and less grip.

3. Less under-steer due to reduced traction
Elaborate.

ok so the cams are a no go anymore...
dave is trying to sell them to someone else that has ordered the same thing
who is this other guy? But yeah I'm not happy that my mechanic quoted me around 6500 to get tlthis done and it has now cost 12k and is way over my budget which they never warned me about :(
also the tiptronic gearbox I bought off nvr2low has different length driveshafts WTF
I thought all the 4 speeds were the same!
pretty much everythig that could go wrong has gone wrong.
now they won't give my car back till I give them the whole amount that I owe and
I am 5k short so looks like I won't have my car back anytime soon :'(
are they allowed to do that?

Yeah, cars are money pits.
Mine isnt finished and just in engine alone I've done just on 9K.
That doesnt include everything else, and the car isnt finished.
But the car was done by myself, so little labour cost, but plenty of cursives shouted out.

Thing is, they are asking for money... is the car even finished?
As in 100% driveable, back together, no nigglies?
I personally wouldn't give them a cent till the jobs done... however, that would be with a written price quote, and telling them to get fudged if they tried to pwn me for hidden costs.

yours was a 4 speed wasnt it nvr2low???

well they gave me a quote print out at the beginning. this was the over the top quote that included everything like rebuilding the engine get custom pistons and sh*t and that totalled 17,000
now i said i dont want all that crazy sh*t and we went through it and crossed off the unnecessary things...
this equalled around $6500

now they hand me the bill for $13,000 and i get the biggest shock in my life as they never said they were going over the quote. they mentioned how they had issues... but they never said anything about how much it cost or that they had gone over. especially by that much.
now they refuse to give me my car back until i pay them in full
