This Pulse joint seems doggy!

Mate they are NOT doggy they do things with out cutting corners.
In my time i have been to a good number of mechanics and have seen a good number of doggy ones and pulse is not one of them.
None of us have looked at the car to see what the problems are, bring it to the DIY day so we can check it out.

nah mate.. its all informative as i need to do my seals too. but after reading this i might do what zuihoujueding is doing. please zuihou let me know how everything goes after you get you car back.
Im sure everyone agree that finding a good and reliable mechanic is difficult. There will be good experience and bad experiences. I just hope this mechanic at autotech is a good one.

actually i had the exactly the same experience 1year ago. The mechanic naturally threw blame on something else. what is left with me is to spend even more money, just to check out where the new leak is.

Here is my personal experience with pulse:
on Dec2008, i went to pulse and one mechanic tried to open up the cam shaft cover and have a look at the leak. He obviously do not know how to remove it and reside to use force and it left me with covers full of deep scratches. i was right beside him all the while and i was like 'wtf!' I did not want to confront him about his skills just in case he fuc up my ride even further.

Took him 1/2hr to take the top cover off and he simply walked off to have his tea break and i was left there stranded. 15-20min after he came back and lift the car up on hoist and concluded that there are evidence of oil leak at the rear head gasket, but it may be a run of.

To check further, more parts needs to be taken off and labour will be well over $400 to find the leak. I did not have enough $ at that time so i asked him to put everything back. Again he forced the cover back. but luckily it wasnt broken. All these service costed my $135.

Maybe its just my luck, with an inexperienced mechanic working on my ride. But he can simply ask if hes unsure. Not fuc up my covers. So overall, that left me a bad experience on the whole with pulse.

But again, its was just my personal exeprience and im sure there are many happy customers out there including aza. Sorry aza!
