I have a lot of respect for Steve Irwin he was an awsome bloke. Its gallows humor and to me a sign of respect that people go to th effort to make jokes about the guy, in many ways i would rather people put effort into the jokes and humour than into getting all maudling and depressed.
The guy mucked around with dangerous animals and he knew (and i've seen him admit it) that if he made a mistake he could die. I also think, having watched most if not all his stuff over the years that he had a wicked sense of humour and often played jokes and pranks on other members of the team and that he would be P1ssing himself laughing at some of the stuff ive seen.

I just never could laugh at death, never thought it was funny topic at all.
Even to get over this kinda thing why would you laugh? Maybe remember the good times and laugh at them, but not a side joke of the stingray that killed him.
