I've been there last month. It was about 3 hours drive. 12 of us went (church friends) and we had around 4-5 hours shooting there. It was fun, pain though.....
however, better stay overnight there cos if you would want to drive there early in the morning, get some shooting and come back in the evening, you'll feel exhausted...
So, better find a good accommodation there, best if massage is provided...

how far is it from sydney?
If it's 3 hours from melbourne - remember it's a 13 hour drive to melbourne so that'll be a 10 hour drive for us sydney people
