Intake manifold mod
Just letting people know that I am modifying my intake manifold and wanting to hear peoples opinion on this
This isn't a definate go (need to wait see what cost is) but this is the plan:
Unbolt the plenum off, cut the runners 4cm shorter or so, and weld on a new high flowing plenum on a ported 65mm throttle body with original match ported and polished runners.
So, runners will be shortened (more peak hp)
Butterflies for short/long intake will be thrown away (less restriction I hope at high rpm)
plenum designed for better flow and more equal air distribution between cylinders

Well it would be interesting to see the finish product & dyno before & after install. What sort of cost involve?
Keep us up to date & pics would be good

might get heaps of low rpm torque loss afaik, maybe faster revving though so it gets past the 'flat spot' quicker, but just guessing
bad for fuel consumption while going slow, but might also go well with multiple throttle bodies / 6 pack throttle bodies.. as they're supposed to have super instant throttle response i thinkg.....

Yeah it will be benchflow tested. Unfortunately the runners are already ported/polished
But no before and after dyno results
I am finding out tomorrow the cost of it. The mechanic said "should be a few hundred bucks" so it depends on the price if I do it or not
Low end torque I was expecting, but not overly fussed about it
Actually considering I might get a new plenum I was thinking of running twin TB as well. Can 2 4G15 TB be made to work? One on each end of the plenum?
Without full standalone computer (using blue emanage)
