Tiptronic problem?
hey guys
i have a tiptronic gpx and ive noticed that when i go down a hill the transmission goes down to second and holds 3k revs all the way down till i press the accelerator or manually put it to third. any one notice this or know y this happens?
I would have thought it would work like a normal auto and just glide down a hill like say an automatic commodore would.
please help

mine does the same thing. I figured it was just a feature that maintained your speed as you go down the hill *shrugs* I really didn't pay that much attention to it

Yeah, that's normal too, and it really bothers me! That's why I only drive in sports mode. What else bothers me is when you're in sports mode and you go to change down a gear but the computer beat you to it so you jump from 4th to 2nd and eat steering wheel, lol.AERODYNAMIST wrote:how bout gear wouldn't go down from 3 to 2 on normal level road when u slow down? is that normal? instead it will go down straight to 1 if u completely stop.

I discovered yesterday that if your doing over 110 MPH on a British motorway and accidently hit the steering wheel controls for the tip, the wheel comes up very quickly then when the gears re-engage well into the MIVEC zone you hit the back of your head on the seat.noccers wrote:Yeah, that's normal too, and it really bothers me! Probably looked and sounded good from the outside but I dont think I'll make a habit off it
