Suspension repairs

Post by Redboost »

Hi guys,

I just had a little accident with my car - I was going over a speedhump when suddenly I hear a massive CLUNK. I thought I'd maybe scraped the bottom of the car but then noticed every time I turn left, there's the clunk sound again. My dad had a look at the car and jacked it up and saw that one of the arms had snapped off. Its part number 40603 according to the exploded FTO suspension diagrams. Does anyone know how much roughly I'd be looking at to buy this part and how difficult it is to fit? My dad says he's willing to fit it for me but he wants to know the level of difficulty before he attempts it. If the degree is too difficult I'll send it to the mechanics but my dad is mechanically proficient so if possible, I'd rather have him fit it and save some money - any opinions?

Part Number

Post by dstocks »

Part Number is MR131542 (Pre Facelift) or MR333830 (Post Facelift). Shouldnt be too hard to fit. I think you can get aftermarket ones of those too. Check Whiteline (or someone like that). Known as the Front Suspension Stabilizer. NOTE: Make sure this is the right part before you buy, but it seems to be from the number you quoted.
