The difference between what we do and what we are capable of doing would suffice to solve most of the world's problem.

the main issue is that it hasn't got the engineering certificate for the mods and hence VicRoads and your insurance ppl will not cover u...thats my understanding

I went to look at it and got them down to 16k in one hit...obviously they want to get rid of it. I think it would be a good car though, looked great thats for sure.

I know you went and had a look, so it comes to back to what's the point to have a car which can get defect and can't drive straight away?

if you are willing to take the risk and get a certificate yourself then bargin them down and buy it. Then fix the necessary bits to make it comply.

so in ther end it depends on what u want to do and what risk your willing to take.

its been there for about 4 months now. I remember looking at it before I bought my R33...i seriously thought about getting it...but the issue with the engineering certificate was the reason I didn't go ahead. I reckon if u got it for like 10k...u would be set!

i was talking to the mechanic about his car the other day (the guy that did the work). he said he never finished what was planned for the car, but funds ran dry....

i think its a bargain for its price now... depending on how much needs to be spent..

but if u got a fto (turbo) on road for 20 k ud be pretty stoked.

I rang VicRoads about this car and the person I spoke to emphasised quite strongly that this car may never be roadworthy.

They explained that not all cars can have all modifications either because it goes beyond the limits of what VicRoads will allow for the car or because other modifications that would be required to make it all legal aren't always available for all cars.

The fact that they really emphasised this point and made sure I clearly understood it turned me off this car. Without knowing what would need to be done, how much it would cost and an absolute guarantee that it would be roadworthy, it's just not worth the risk.

Whoever originally owned this car must of lost a shitload of money on it and it looks like the car yard might too.
