Inaccurate Fuel Guage

Ok, I give up.

When all else fails, ask for help, so here goes.

I installed my new dial faces from KMC (Look sweet BTW) but when installing the face for the centre two gauges (Fuel and Temp) I moved the fuel gauge needle. Not intentional, but since both needles have to be pointing the same direction to get the face on, it was always going to move at least a little.

Anyway, since I have put the dials back together, my fuel reading has been out. With a full tank, Im reading just under 3/4.

1. I tried moving the needle back to full with the dash in place
2. I tried moving the needle back to full with the dash out
3. I even tried moving the needle when the engine was running

Each time, the needle slowly settles back to just below 3/4.

How can I get it to read correctly again ?

When you say moving the needle, do you mean actually taking the needle off and putting in back on again, or just turning it with your finger?

If you just turn it without putting it off, that the accuracy shouldnâ€™t be affected. I have turned my needles many times both to the left and right, no problems.

Just make sure that your needle not actually touching to the dial faces when in operation.

I have found that my voltmeter dial was touching to the face and getting stuck at under 12V, tried to knock it couple of times and it just jumped up and back to 12v again.

Than I just extend the gap between face and dial holder, walla

Definately didnt take it off. Just moved it with my fingers while putting on the white facia. Thats why I'm so confused. I cant see why it has become inaccurate.

And its not touching the face. Nothing is restricting needle movement.

Mate, I have the same problem!
I kinda have learnt to live with it, but up for being a test subject for possible resolutions!

I had this problem after I installed the V3 as well & I end up pulling the needle out & install it gently again. It works fine ever since.

Yeah - I have that problem too actually. Have to pull it out and take it off, then put it back on in the right spot. Best to do after filling up, then you know where the needle should be.

My temp gauge is also doing that now since I put on the needle cups.
