Can someone tell me from what year FTO that engine came from?

No but seriously isn't there a way that from the engine # you can find out the VIN # of the car which then you can tell what year the car was?

i thought the engine no. was shorter than the VIN?
i dont think they would have both engine number and VIN.. if the VIN could be worked out by having the engine number, it would defeat the purpose of having the VIN in the first place

What if I call Mitsubishi and tell them the engine number?
Would they be able to tell me what year car it's from??

That takes the VIN and gives you the model code, build date and other details.. not the engine age though..
