I have written quite a bit on this, have a search for it. I had a few pounds shaved off mine when I had the clutch done. Highly recommend it.

I did a few searches and couldn't find any write up on lightening the flywheel

How much did it cost? If it's been balanced already, would it need to be done again??

Cost me $260 in total, that includes milling charges to remove the weight, then a balance. It goes without saying that when its machined to remove weight, it is then balanced again

What i wrote previously was the pros & cons of doing it. As there are drawbacks. I'll see if I can find it - if not I'll re-write it.

I got a pro-shop iida carbon kevlar flywheel.

Most expensive and the lightest.

other thing is the standard fto flywheel is 2 piece and not as durable under hard launches all the time as a 1 piece aftermarket

they're both similar weight though afaik

What sort of improvements did you get d stroy r?
Is it worthwhile?

I am only really considering at this stage removing weight from the standard one, is this safe to do?

I see RPW has a chromoly lightweight one, sounds like it would be quite good

How much off the 400m would a flywheel drop?
And does the car become a b!tch to drive at all?

There isn't much of a diff in 1/4 mile.

It's got awesome accelaration. Because my whole driveline set-up was done before i got it. can't really comment on before and after.

I would only do it if you were doing the clutch or something else inside the gearbox or diff because its very expensive if you got a new flywheel and fit it.

I know acceleration is better. It might reduce the top end.
