who cares its under the bonnet - You can get it in black also. The dimensions and design of the UAS pipe are superior to the pipes I have seen so far. The thick rubber (not plastic!) pipe provides excellent insultaion and the box setup it good for keeping your cold air cold...Camo wrote:i just dont like the colour pipe and the foam filer. i think the plastic pipe just looks a bit ricer and budget.
but it is an easy to get CAI setup and a quick option if your eager to get it done!
btw those Unifilters have a better filter rating than most other filters on the market...with a big surface area also..thats if you intresed in keeping stuff outta our engine...without restricting aitflow
Despite all that it has been proven to give 5-10kw atw from a stock air box...thats nothing to sneeze at.
Budget?? most ppl simply have a Pod filter on the end of a stock pipe...thats budget.

I think what shue is saying is that it 'looks' budget .... and i agree... as far as who cares if its under bonnet.... well i for one do? I think there is nothing nicer then a really clean attractive engine bay! thats why I went for an ARC intake as I prefer the look of a shiny alum to the black or coloured rubber...
I do agree it has proven results, and for that reason is a great buy, just dont think cosmetically it looks the best and there were issues with (a) delivery time - people waited months after paying and parts were not included (b) durability - peoples had parts snapping etc.

None of these experiences. Ordered it and got it within 2 days from Syd.EURO wrote: there were issues with (a) delivery time - people waited months after paying and parts were not included (b) durability - peoples had parts snapping etc.
We can all agree to disagree...but at the lights...no1 cares what color your air pipe is lol. Also comes with a nice heat restrictive cover...after all its a CAI...overall if your intrested in performance then its one of the better "off the shelf" packages i have seen.
For anyone that is really intrested these are some std figures of dust retention for most filter types:
Paper
As a base rating
30 µm
Oiled Paper
2% more restrictive
18 µm
Cotton Gauze* K&N type
25% less restrictive
45 µm
Unifilter Foam (UAS Type)
24% less restrictive
4 µm
What does this mean?? most std Cotton Gauze pod filters on the market do not stop as must dust/crap as the Unifilter foam...engine wear is caused by dust particles larger than 15 micron. How do you maintain an unrestricted aitflow?? large filter serface area....

those experiences were mainly to people who bought into the first group buy when the prodcust was launched. It is probably all sorted now. I have a heard a few peoples brackets etc have snapped..
I know the product has been tested and proven... and no at the lights people may not care about the colour of your intake pipe but you could say that about a lot of things... my decision was that I wanted one that performed well but also looked good ... tahts all i was saying.
