Installing Electrical Oil Pressure Gauge

Post by RedlineGX »

Ok got one of these and want to get it put in. So anyone done it before and care to share what's involved? Where do I get a pressure signal from?
Also got an oil temp and was thinking i would do both the same time.
Any help would be appreciated. 8)

You get the signal from somewhere on the block.
I am not sure where abouts it is, but it's an opening which already there and has a bolt of some sort on, and it's where the oil runs to the top of the engine, so I am guessing a bit above the oil pump

Sorry couldn't help any more, but if you take to a mechanic they'd be able to point it out to you, and from then on it's quite easy to install, just find the right fittings (car shops usually sell these) and follow the instructions

are you in on the Oil Filter Adapter group buy? coz this looks like a smart option if you're looking at somewhere to stick the oil pressure sender unit.

Yup - need one of these. Can run both pressure & temp off the one unit. It screws on behind your oil filter.
