ABS

Post by bigpitty1 »

I just wanted to find out what models came out with ABS, I heard that all model from 97 and up came out with ABS and air bags, but what about with models 94 and up, I wanted to know if like the GPX came with it standard or if it was an option.

I think it was an option on all the earlier models. I'm pretty sure it was standard on the GPvR.

My '96 GPX has ABS, Dual SRS & TCL.

The GPvR had drivers side airbag as standard and abs as an option. I believe the GPX facelift had abs and driver side air bag as standard, all pre-facelift ftos had abs and airbags as option only.

Yep,

Option in the earlier models. I have ABS and no airbags. My previous FTO had neither.

Thanks for that, and one more other question, how is the speedo operated, is it off a speedo cable or does it run off a wheel speed sensor, I know it is a dum question to ask but I want to know.

It receive's its signal electronically from a speed sensor located in the gear box.
