Post by Darith »

Hi

Just wondering how much has anyone paid for timing belt and water pump replacement.

I got quoted for $1200 from Mist. Adelaide

Timing belt alone would cost your close to 500 / 600
I would do the gaskets, spark plugs, and a few other things while i have it all off.

Water pump shouldn't be much going for ~300
I'm sure the SA guys can reccomend a good workshop in your area.

Well that's my estimates!

Timing Belt from Gates was around $200, wasnt it?

I am also pretty sure Gates told me that Repco sells the belt as well.

840 seems a bit steep for parts for what you have mentioned above ?!?!
Or was there something else your getting done?

He's getting it done by Mitsu I think.....if that's what he means by Mist. :?

That would explain the higher than average cost.

Your right Bucket

At first I was going to change my timing belt, they quoted like $550-650 i think.

Then I ask them do I have to replace anything esle, reply: maybe your water pump. But we have to look at it to determine if it needs replacing, you don't have to, but its going to cost you for us to look at.

Then I told them that you might aswell replace that too.

Just replacing new timing belt done and new water pump.

Had my plugs done 3 months ago. I'm on 120,000km .
