I just bought a gear knob for my fto and when I went to remove the old one I could not find any grub screws or anything that might release the gear knob. Any help about how to remove it from someone who has changed theirs would be greatly appreciated.

yes. well once u remove the button (the thing u press to change gears) there is a white plastic cover. its not pull off thing (which i tried for hours to do) its a screw thing. then after that u just pull off the original gear stick and replace it withyour new one (it should come with instructions). if its too high just cut the stick a little (which i did) and it should be fine.

Thanks heaps hey. I've put it on now and i had to cut a fair bit of the stick to make it fit down low. How much did u cut, i cut all the thread the old nut tightened up on to expose more of the button stick, and about 2.5 to 3 cm of the button stick.
I needed to cut the thread the old nut tightened up on to allow enough room for the button to go down. Works great now, bit of fiddling around and freaking out when estimating the lenghts to cut though, cause no going back once its cut.
Thanks again
