Technically an "f" has an "e" sound so therefore grammatically it does require an "an" just like "hour" has an "an" in front of it..

Well Honda owners cop it as well!

RX owners do, as its not a WRX. Holden drivers cop it when they mock up their cars to look like V8s.

Ford fans bagging a ford as its an XT, but has FPV written on it.

I don't understand people that bag others cars, even if someone had a Lada I would not make bad comments about their cars.

It's a purely personal choise that has a lot to do with your bank balance at the time of the purchase.

Enjoy your car and don't give a crap about what other people say.
