Changing the Heater Core/Matrix

Post by Dr_Jones »

I have done a fair bit of reading on the UK forums about this but I have to tackle this soon as it's getting quite chilly at night and that's when I spend the most time in my car.

So for a 150 bucks I have a second hand unit here. I think they gave me too much, I have this huge white box with electric controllers and all on it and still attached is the core that pokes through the firewall.

Has anyone here done this themselves? I am aware the dash has to come out but is there anything else I should know about.

Fingers crossed.

I just paid Rik and Joe's to do mine. :-)

Took them 2 days to do it between other stuff they had on.

From memory the labour component was about $300.

Just make sure you put evrything back together properly so you don't get any annoying creaks or rattles. I have had to do some hunting for noises in my dash.

Cheers

Chris
